Hi, I’m Shanel, owner of Fabric & Frolic. Thanks for visiting!

I have a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, where I focused on sculpture and wearable art. This led to 15 years as a bespoke womenswear designer and dressmaker, blending sculptural form with vintage style, bold silhouettes, and statement textiles.

I believe great materials are the foundation of beautiful textile art. Over time, it became harder to find inspiring fabrics for my designs, which inspired me to open Fabric & Frolic — an online shop sharing unique, fun, and colorful fabrics.

The name comes from my creative process and my daughter Famke, who perfectly embodies “frolic” with her energy and joy. I hope to bring that same playful spirit to you through my fabric selections.
